I own a 2000 Volkswagen Golf GTI, and it has the muffler with the turn down exhaust tips. yeah sounds a little odd..not exactly anoise a started would make...any idea if hes going to replace it? maybe a belt noise..glove box around 50 maybe you can find one on ebay or craigslist..should make him knock some $ off for the issue/s
