Vr6 24valve or 1.8 tdi chiped?

i just bought a 97 volkz golf for 150 bux i had to get it running .and shes kicking just under 300k now i saved up about 5 grand, my question is she's a standard so should I get the vr6 or 1.8l tdi and chip it

Buy a newer VW and modify that. It's not worth modifying a car with 300K on the clock, for the suspension and frame will lose a lot of the original rigidity.

Can I use an ABS pump from a Audi A4 to replace my faulty one in a VW Golf Mk3? It's a 1.6liter by the way

Current car is a 1997 VW Golf CL Mk3. It's a petrol 1.6liter engine. I was actually looking at a same year model A4. The golf is a 97 model, so the A4 donor is a 97 as well. Its very hard to find VW donors here. Easier to find Audis.

I have a 97 VW golf 5 sp just bought this car from a private seller and when I take off It kinda puts along and then it will get a kick of power and take off like normal..it comes in sputs and usually only happens when I take off or go slow ...What could this be i've narrow it down to either bad o2 sensor which i know it has a vacuum leak or spark...

Hmmmm 12 yr. old car. It could be any # of things. My suggestion is to take it to a VW dealership. Costs a bit more but they will do it rite, and guarantee the work. My '98 VW had similar problem; dealer fixed it rite 1st time. That was 3 yrs ago and was the only problem Ive ever had with mine...
