I cant give you a break down but the 30000 mile service on mine was $1200. Its one of the reasons I drive american now.

yes the rav4 is WAY better, the jeep liberty has had all kinds of recalls on things like airbags, brakes, and other saftey equip. the rollover rating on a liberty is horrible, the older rav4's were pretty bad too but the newer ones have a way lower center of grav.

i dont think this has a "sliding alternator". it has a single serpentine (snake like) belt that winds around all the pulleys. you have to compress the automatic tensioner to remove the belt. according to the service manual a "special service tool" - SST (sold by Toyota to the dealers) is required...
