My car keys stolen for 2008 Camry Hybrid.?
I don't have the 2nd set. How can I get a new set because it's the remote type of key that you leave in your pocket? I'm calling the dealer tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

only the dealer can program a new set in for you. it has to be done with the toyota scan tool (techstreem) and it has to be a new key. cannot be one of those keys you buy on ebay for $20. Reference:toyota technician

Ummmmmmm well those Honda's are problem free huh? Wow! almost a year for a headlight! Yay! No, really, go to Walmart, check the computer and buy a bulb. Too bad that none of us will have jobs in a couple of years because you buy cars from terrorists that killed 14472 innocent civilians on December...

'08's should be rolling out no later than September. Since Camrys were redesigned for '07 expect little change for '08. ('08 Corollas and Matrixes are already on sale.) Pity the 10th generation Corolla will now be on sale as a 2009 model instead of '08, but now I'm just ranting...

What is the most sensible way to shut down a 2008 Camry Hybrid (Canadian version)? ?
I usually place it in P, apply the parking brake, exit the car and lock it. However, do I need to press the power button to shut down properly? It uses a Smart Key System, which is an advanced computerized system that uses sensors to automatically unlock the doors and start the vehicle without the use of a traditional key.

You need to press the power button to shut off the car. If the car is left "on" in IG/ON or ACC mode, you will run down the car's 12V "boot-up" battery. Not good. If you left the car "on" in READY mode, it will run the HV battery down and cause the gasoline engine to turn on and recharge it. It...

Why should I also consider these? X

The Altima Hybrid, which also has a full-hybrid system, has mileage and overall performance that's very similar to those of the Camry Hybrid, but the Camry's interior is a little roomier.

The luxurious, diesel-powered Mercedes E320 Bluetec seems like an unlikely competitor, but it also attracts buyers who want to decrease their petroleum use, and it gets 32 mpg on the highway.

To its credit, the E320 Bluetec rides, handles, and accelerates just about as well as the gasoline E350, but it's more than twice the price of the Camry Hybrid.

Or if you'd like a full-hybrid powertrain in a compact SUV, there's the Ford Escape Hybrid, which is rated at 34 mpg city, 30 mpg highway.

Finally, if you don't need all the space of the Camry and don't mind a hatchback, you might as well go for the much more fuel-efficient Prius, which gets 48 mpg city, 45 mpg highway.
