1998 Subaru Forester with 162K?
would this be a wise decision to buy this car? http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/car/754431493.html

This is a really good deal on the car and as I said in your other question, it's very clean. The dealer does not list ANY information on the car, so you need to find out what's going on with it. You need to check the headgaskets to see if they have been done before and how they were done. You...

Suburu Forester?
What do you guys think about this car: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/car/754431493.html I'd like to buy it and make out with it

That looks very clean! But check the headgaskets to see if they have been done before and how they were done. You should be able to see visually on the outside if they were replaced with updated OEM headgaskets.

2003 subaru forester air bag light?
I own a 2003 subaru forester. Everything seems fine with it, no problems, except that the air bag light is continuously on. sometimes it goes off, randomly, but for the most part it stays on. Any possible reasons for this? maybe its supposed to be on?

No...the light indicates a problem. I had a similar problem with my Outback, it ended up being a bad clockspring in the steering column. It could be anything in the system though, Like a impact sensor, connector, wire, or computer (the airbag system has its own on a Subaru). The only way to know...

I want to put an STI engine in my 1999 Forester?
how much work will it be? what do i need to change? thanks

Your best bet is to find a rolled STI cuz you need the complete motor including the ECU which means you need to completely rewire the whole car too so having a totaled STI to work with will make things easier. Plus it would be good to transplant the tranny as well since yours is probably not going...

Why should I also consider these? X

The Honda CR-V has been completely redesigned for 2008, and it has a very spacious interior, with comfortable seating and a smooth ride.

The CR-V is also more fuel-efficient, but it just isn't much fun to drive and it's not as rugged when taking on the rutted trail to a campsite.

The Outlander is a different type of crossover; it also caters more to on-road performance, but it has a decidedly sporty character, with a firm ride and very crisp handling.

On paper, it competes closely with the 2008 Subaru Forester, but in reality, it's quite a bit heavier and just doesn't feel as nimble.

However, both of these models have the Forester beat for refinement.

Another choice, for those who appreciate the Forester's boxiness and city-friendliness, is the Scion xB.

The Scion has a lower price than the Forester, with a similar nimble feel on the road, and it's more fuel-efficient.

However, it doesn't have the rugged ability or the all-wheel drive of the Subaru.
