How to convert to a baja bug?
I have a 73 super bug but i want to convert it to a baja bug. Are there any ideas or suggestions out there? Thanks alot! Well said.

Don't. While the Baja Bug is basically just clipped fenders, hood, and truncated engine compartment, is not such a good ideal for a Super Beetle. The strong torsion bar tubes of the old bug were replaced by weak struts on the Super Beetle. Fine for roads, but not good for off road. If you want...

i have been thinking of buying an old vw bug to turn into a baja bug now someone told me there are certain years you want to buy and others you dont because of better suspension and other crap.....so my question is is there a certain year bug that is best for doing this type of thing

Bugs built after 1967 had independent rear suspension (IRS) and are better suited for baja bugs. You might be able to get a 1967 or earlier bug and replace the swingarm transaxle to an IRS but it would probably be very involved.

i am considering purchasing a subaru baja, but since it is out of production i am a little apprehensive, i need to weight out the pros and cons of this car, i do not want to hear your opinions, im looking for facts about mileage, how much of a hassle it will be to repair since iti s out of production, anything along that line
