How to fix up a vw baja bug 1967 for cheap?
I was wondering if anyone had any cheap tricks to make the baja go faster. i have a 1776 engine in it and i also have a weber 44 carb. im about to get fox shocks for it so i can take it out to the dunes..... does anyone have any sugestions on how to get it more top end......

What does putting a baja kit, and bigger tires, on an older vw bug do to the mileage?
I'm looking to get an older vw bug, and I'd really love to put a baja kit and a/t tires on it, but I dont want to sacrifice too much mileage. What would adding that do to it?

The body kit might give you more drag, resulting in an insignificant mileage penalty. The oversize tires would hurt more. They give the illusion of having a taller gear in the car, meaning although your revs are lower at 60, the engine is actually working harder to maintain speed. Better idea?...

I put a K&N SRI to my subaru baja and check engine light come on after driving it for 30 minutes?
I made sure everything was tight so no air was leaking. The MAF was clean and tightly secured on the mound, and every clamp was tight. Also i made sure i disconnected the batteries so it can adjust to it but it didnt help. Then i put the stock intake back on and check engine light didnt come back. Im guessing that the check engine light came on...

When i was rally racing I used Aluminum rims because of the lighter unsprung weight helps the handling a lot. Now that I am doing more off road driving, I use steel wheels because they will bend and not break. The weight is not a factor at lower speeds. Mike http://www.mikestrawbridge.com
