Ok my defrost is not working. The air will blow anywhere but up. Does a pontiac montana air Controller work via a vacuum line ? Or are there micro switches ? Thanks for any help

its on the front of the vehicle bolted to the engine (two long bolts one longer than the other) going into the transmission must remove the negative battery cable at the battery first, then take wires off the solenoid on the starter and then the bolts and will come off reverse procedure to install
