Basically, if you don't know what you're doing or you just think you do. Don't install things yourself without doing the proper research on your vehicle. Just a suggestion for future reference. I'd attempt to put the old unit back in.

Why didn't pontiac companies put the pontiac emblem om the 2000 Pontiac Firebird?
yeah mine has the bird across the break lights and it has the word firebird on the doors also and the one on the driver side head light so i went and bought on and putting it on it

You know what - that's a good question. If I recall, though, I don't think our '99 'Bird has the emblem, either. It does have the "Firebird" graphics along the brake lights, and it does say "Pontiac" on the driver's side headlight flap, but I don't think the emblem is actually on it anywhere. I'll...

and can you fix it yourself. I was told i can take it out and brush the grooves out and it might work. auto zone ran some tests and they said one berfore the cadi. and after he said its the one after

Trying to follow a flow chart for testing and alldata shows a wire diagram for this in the testing but wont give me a location. I did a search on a few ls1 forums but have not found anything absolute. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
