It sounds like your fuel pump went out. It will over heat when you run out of gas. Also air in the lines isn't a problem on newer cars. That pertains to carburated cars. Another possibility is that the fuel pump burned up and you didn't really run out of gas. Reference:Answer given to me by husband...

2005 Nissan Titan - engaging 4WD?
I am comparing two 2005 Nissan Titan LE 4WD trucks for possible purchase. Both have the off road package but only one has the 4WD selector switch (2H, 4H, 4LO) below the left AC vent. How is 4WD controlled on the truck w/out the switch? Thanks!

The second one probably doesn't have 4WD. I believe all Titans have a electronic engagement switch for the 4x4, no levers.

When it comes to light-duty trucks, the 2008 Ford F-150 and the Chevy Silverado are the two big dogs.

They go at it every day.

The Ford gets a complete makeover in 2009, while the Silverado was completely revamped for the 2007 model year.

The Dodge, a perennial third runner, will also be all new for 2009 (the current 2008 Dodge is the same vintage as the 2008 Nissan Titan, meaning that both are pretty old in dog years).
