Your question should be that your father bought a "used car". A 2004 model is "not" by any means a new car since we are nearing 2009. Don't intervene in parental affairs, they may not agree now but they will get over it, keep in mind that they have gotten though things that were a lot worst...

Has your 2004 Nissan Murano ever stalled while driving or in idle?
I was driving the other day and the car just turned off! All the indicator lights went on and the steering locked up. I had to stop in the middle of traffic, put it into park, restart the car, and I was on my way. Very distressing and scary especially since this is a 2004 car. 2004 Murano BRAKES!!?
I need to change the front and rear brakes on my Murano. My question: To decompress the piston, do I rotate clockwise or counterclockwise?? Is there any difference in changing the front and rear brakes?? Do I do them all the exact way?? All four tires are equipped with disc brakes so it should be the same to change front and back right??

You don't have to turn the piston on a 2004 Murano. Only on older models. Just compress the piston straight in. It is the same system as the front but the front calipers are bigger (since they do most of the braking) and use bigger brake pads. Reference:Certified Nissan Technician
