Definately the STi. The car is rally bred, and that flat 4 turbocharged engine really can do a number on you. The Maxima wasn't made to perform in a 'sports car' way. These two cars are in completely different car classes.

Well the closest car that is equivalent to a Maxima you can purchase in japan from Nissan is probably the Skyline. However the Skyline in America is more commonly known as the Infiniti G37 sedan, but I would say that this is the most comparable to the American maxima...

I have a 2009 Nissan Maxima & I want to make modifications for better gas mileage & acceleration, any ideas?
I don't know much about cars/engines, my background is more on the electronic side. I mainly wanna make my car faster, an increase in gas mileage would be a plus but its not a necessity.

My best answer is to keep it completely stock and under warranty. There will be some well tested modifications available at Stillen and Jim Wolfe Technologys. Almost anything you do for more power will also make the engine use more fuel. Electronic back ground you should know all the car's...

I have a 2009 Nissan Maxima with a heated steering wheel. Can I put a cushioned cover on it?
The wheel is very hard and hurts my hands after a while of driving. I'm not sure I can put a cover over it with the heating element. Wondering if anyone has any ideas. I have arthritis and I think a softer wheel would help. Thanks.

Why should I also consider these? X

The 2009 Nissan Maxima appeals more readily to those looking for a perky, smooth, and stylish V-6 luxury sedan than to those wanting a sport sedan.

For the latter, shoppers might consider the Pontiac G8—especially in GT trim—or the Dodge Charger R/T, though neither of those cars has an interior that's as stylish as the Maxima's or offers the same level of appointments and tech options.

At the opposite end of the scale, for those who might want even more comfort and interior space, there's the Toyota Avalon, although it's less exciting to drive and look at.

In between, the Volkswagen Passat VR6 offers similar performance and a very attractive, comfortable interior, along with available all-wheel drive, but it's more expensive.

The newly redesigned 2009 Acura TL, which at the time of this writing hasn't yet gone on sale, also promises to be a formidable rival.
