RPMs on my 2009 Nissan Frontier?
I have a 2009 Nissan Frontier XE pickup, 5-speed manual transmission with a 4 cylinder engine. As I go down the road at 65 miles per hour, my tachometer will read 2500 RPMS. I think my RPMS are rotating about 500 more times per minute than it should as I go down the road. Is that something I should worry about?

This matters only if it *used* to read something else under exactly the same conditions.

What's the most reliable and overall best engine to get in a 2009 chevrolet silverado?
Crew or extended cab, with a 6 speed (for efficiency, and to prevent any shifting hesitation). Looking for good performance with decent fuel economy and good reliability. Should I also consider, say, a Nissan Frontier? I would not be hauling or towing that much. Thanks

In a full size crew or extended with a 6 speed tranny the 5.3 will get the best mileage. In a 2wd its rated 15 city 21 hwy. that will give you the best towing and fuel economy. I have sold many of the Silverado's with all the engines and the 5.3 is still the best with the 6 speed. The v6 is...

5..maybe a bit more or a bit less...but around 5

Why should I also consider these? X

The 2009 Nissan Frontier offers a wide range of trims and equipment to meet various work and recreation needs—just like other traditional pickups, such as the Toyota Tacoma and Dodge Dakota.

The Dodge Dakota comes in two- and four-door versions, with V-8 engines available and four-wheel-drive packages for more serious duty.

The Toyota Tacoma offers a big V-6 engine, a special off-road version, and even a sport-tuned edition.

The Honda Ridgeline does it differently; it comes in just one four-door configuration and with one powertrain combination, but its cubby-laden interior and highly functional truck bed might compensate for casual users or certain work needs.
