Outlander 2007/2008?
I'm looking at several small SUV. One of them is the Outlander. I do mountain biking, and I think that the outlander might work for me nicely. I don't do really off-road, but sometimes go through dirt roads now and then. How will the outlander work on this?

True. You can go with a Jeep. It's got better resale value but they are the least reliable cars out there. They are not very comfortable and are built with little plastics in it's interior. Not high quality plastic mind you but cheap looking and cheap feeling ones. I've driven one and the seats are...

Just for owners: Outlander 2007/2008, how has it worked so far?
I'm almost about to close on the Outlander. I test drove a CR-V today and liked it, but somehow I prefer the Outlander. Honda reputation and geographic network of service centers is very good, and Mitsubishi network is kind of small. How has the Outlander 2007/08 been in terms of quality?

Why should I also consider these? X

Like the Toyota RAV4, the Outlander offers a small third-row seat that will probably go unused most of the time but is nice to have; and like the Honda CR-V, its interior is very spacious.

But the Outlander has more spirited performance and sportier handling than the Toyota and Honda, though the ride is firmer and less comfortable on some surfaces.

Compared with the Subaru Forester, which also feels sporty, the driver's seat appears lower to the ground in the Forester, and the Subaru's four-cylinder engine certainly comes across as stronger than the standard four in the Outlander, but the Outlander has it beat with its V-6.

For a few thousand dollars more, the Mazda CX-7 has seating for only five, but it's perceived as a more complete performance package, with very comfortable seating, sporty suspension tuning, and a rorty turbocharged engine.

The Forester and CR-V remain the best for those who are safety-minded; they're both IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2008.
