Should I buy 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage LS sedan, with 104k miles on it? 4 cyl. 1.8 litre Engine. Car looks and runs good. It is owned by a girl and asking $2500. I wan to use this car for daily commute on highway of about 35 miles (one way). How much mpg, I can expect from this car? How long engine will last? Any idea about maintenance cost?

I dont know exactly how much gas mileage you can expect....but expect it to be good....Mitsubishi parts are easy to find and are cheap because its made by honda.....every mitsubishi motor is honda. 2500 dollars is a good price for it IF ITS HAD ROUTINE MAITENANCE...do a carfax on it first and id...

Its going ot be a pain and cost alot of money because of inspection reasons, after a 1996 it is almost imposible to change engines unless ur building your own and reflash the PCM or using the same engine. Its alot of work to get it to pass emmisions inspection. Im in NY could be different there
