Put your foot on the brake, while holding the brake pedal down move the shift lever back and forth from park to 1st. Shove it into park hard and then try to remove the key. Reference:Mitsubishi Master Tech

I have a 2000 mitsubishi diamante ls and my right rear view mirror is somewhat broken it needs new glass and somethings in the back to attach it back on to the rest of the rear view mirror. Would be able to order these things at a dealership on the phone because there is no dealership that is even near where I live? thanks muah

They are great cars, but at 131,000 miles it is now or soon will be due for some regular maintenance. Specifically the timing belt and water pump. depending on which engine you are getting that will run from $350. to $600. once that is out of the way you will be good for another 70000 miles.
