1997 Mitsubishi Diamante stuck in fail safe mode. Replaced TCU, that didn't work... now what?
My 97 Diamante is stuck in fail safe mode. I replaced the TCU and that didn't do the trick. Does anyone know what I should try next?

get it scanned at a trans shop. Could be something as simple as an input or output speed sensor. Most shops scan for free.

Do you have to swap the intakes when installing a used engine in a car? (1997 Mitsubishi Diamante)?
The used engine is coming out of another 1997 Diamante with 85k on it. My car had 206k on it

it all depends on the year of the engine your putting in it,sometimes if its a newer engine,you,ll have to swap them out,you have to stay with the set up you have on intakes with the engine,other than that newer engines can be used in them,good luck with it. I also had a 1995 LS and a 1993 LS! They were good runnin' cars long as u took care of it like any other car, but they got a bad rap!

Well, you know the name of a car is just for marketing. They still build it, it just has a different name. It's all just a matter of trim level. If you liked the Diamante, you'll love the new sedans as well.
