What does the "sport button" in the BMW M class roadster do?

It makes throttle response more immediate. Here's more about that: Depressing the console-mounted "Sport" button, which causes the electronically controlled throttle butterflies to flutter more intensely underfoot, often made shift transitions abrupt, especially coming off the clutch.

My M-class Mercedes benz 1998 modle is displaying oil-Hi on the instument panel but oil level is normal ?
this diplay comes on after about 15 to 20 munites of driving or when if I am driving at above 80km/h it comes on and off

either electrical prob, or sensor is going down the hill. but first things first try a regular oil and filter change.
