actually for a mazda tech you should be fired. YES you can open it. It IS made to do that and my GIRLfriend figured it out for me THANKS.

Mine has 2 handles in the back one for the trunk and one for the window.. Yes the window does open!!

2003 Mazda Tribute LX gas mileage? my first car?
i found a mazda tribute LX for $5200 and im 14 and im getting my license next november or december (and yes in my state 14 is the driving age) and i was wondering what kind of gas mileage do they get? and also do they do good in the snow? or should i just get a cadillac escalade?

2003 mazda Tribute has a terrible gas mileage. All Mazda vehicles are bad with gas mileage. the Tribute is ok in the winter time. If you're interested in buying an SUV, a Toyota or a Honda SUV or Ford escape would be a lot better for gas mileage. Forget the Escalade and the Tribute, gas guzzlers.

Changing the color of lights on the dash in my car?
I have a 2002 Mazda Tribute and the color of the speedometer and other things on my dash are green and red... I really like the new colors in the Escapes and Tributes and want to change the bulbs to be a light blue or pink or something... is this possible? I've heard it's pretty easy to change a bulb so do I just buy the bulbs in the colors I want...

I disagree with a previous poster on this one. Yes, you would have to take the dash off and I seriously doubt that would be a cheap job if you had to pay someone to do that.

The Ford Escape is a near twin to the Mazda Tribute, and it offers Ford's excellent SYNC infotainment system, which isn't available on the Mazda version.
The Nissan Rogue is recommended for good handling among compact crossovers, though its cargo area is small and its continuously variable transmission is unusual.
The main competitor for the Tribute, in fact, may be Mazda's own CX-7 crossover, which is slightly larger and far more carlike, with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and much better road manners.
The relative merits of the two vehicles' styling remains a personal choice.
