How does an Rx-8 handle in snow?
Im thinking on buying an Rx-8. But I live in wisconsin and I plan to drive it year around (since it will be my only car.) Does anybody have one or have driven one in the winter snowy conditions? how does it handle? Can I get through our winters? or is it more of a southern car?

Don't do it. Besides being terrible in snow, if you let it sit for more than a few days in the winter, you will have to have it jumped. Rotary engines are famous for little quirks like that.

Is a 2004 mazda rx8 a reliable car?
Im looking to get a used mazda rx8 but I'm not sure if they are as reliable as honda and toyota. But japanese cars are built to last, so wouldn't that count for the rx8 as well? I'm looking at a 2004 black mazda with a custom exhaust system and 18' chrome wheels. It has 70.000 miles on it, and the owner has taken good care of it. Does that still...

Once you exceed this point you get "valve float" where the valves cannot close anymore as the camshaft comes around to open them again because...

I bought an 05 RX8 GS model (Canadian) new and I love the car. Good power, great looks, superb handling, phenomenal brakes, and can carry 4 people comfortably. A perfect car for me. I, too, wouldn't mind an RX7 FD. But not as a daily driver as it's not as practical as the 8. The 2009 model has had...

Why should I also consider these? X

If you're looking for alternatives to the RX-8, you won't find any other models that provide the same combination of responsiveness, backseat space, and an affordable price.

The BMW M Coupe and Porsche Cayman are sportscars that provide very impressive performance, but neither of them quite has the sharp, connected go-kart-like handling of the RX-8; however, both the BMW and the Porsche have torquey, powerful six-cylinder engines that are easier to live with.

The edgy Honda R2000 roadster has a feel on the road that's comparable in some ways to that of the Mazda RX-8, with crisp handling and a peaky, high-revving engine, but the RX-8 has a quiet enough cabin for occasional road trips—and a backseat for occasional extra passengers.
