We have just purchased a 1998 Lincoln Town Car the elite addition?
and now a week later we have a problem with the flapper falpping like it's trying to change from heat to air but it won't, the air doesn't work on ly heat. We took it to a mechanic and he says the part that they have had trouble with this model is trouble to get to and he will have to pull the steering column, dash and all and it will take 5 hours...

Try several other dealers or repair shops you can get it fix for a lot less then that shop around. And the person freddiem is stupid all cars have problems I have owned Lincolns for over twenty years and never had a A/C problems but it can happen to any car. Your probelm is common on those Towncars...

On the lower left corner of the radiator, just below the lower rad hose, you'll see a white plastic hex draincock. Size = 19mm.

My service engine light came on in my 1998 lincoln town car.?
i took it to both autozone and discount auto parts both got no readings at all on their hand computer. I think that there is a special thing u have to do to get a reading off my car--as i recall last time someone took a reading they hooked it to something under the hood--this time both went under the sterring wheel--any suggestions?????????

You may have to take it to a dealer to get the readings. in my experience 9 out of 10 times it is one of your 02 sensors. good luck
