That is not normal. Take it to the lexus dealer. Go with the tech for a drive and show them.

There is an Owners manual online that can be downloaded but it's gonna cost u $20, so I suggest you just go to ur nearest lexus dealer and ask bout getting a new one. They should have some owners manuals, considering your Gx was just a year ago, so it shouldn't be a problem for them looking for one...

Should I buy an '06 Lexus GX 470 or an LS 430.?
Both are fully loaded. Which one would hold the value the most in the long run? Each has about mid 30's in miles and are around $28k.

The LS430 is a much nicer car than the GX470. It rides smoother, is more quiet, is more luxurious, and has better technology. Unless you need the extra space that the GX provides, get the LS. Reference:Have owned several Lexus vehicles.

How do I override the gx470 navigation system so I can make changes to it while driving?

You can't. Stop driving, put it in park, and change then. It's a factory system with no override. If you want one that you can override, try looking into aftermarket nav systems. Reference:Work at Lexus dealer/service shop.
