Grinding sound in 4WD 2002 Jeep Liberty?
When I put it in 4WD part time, there is a grinding sound like a gear is not engaged. Does anybody know what this might be? I just bought this car 2 weeks ago. Thanks.

it could be the shifter linkage out of adjustment causing it to not engage all the way, or it could be internal in the transfer case. most likely it is inside and will need rebuilt. check the linkage adjustment first. Reference:chrysler tech

Is it ok for a 2002 jeep liberty sport to have 155,000 miles on it and i am buying it for $7000?
it looks to be well maintained. very nive outside and interior. they have it listed at 7995 but i was going to try to talk them to 7000

Hi probibly a plugged up heater core it can't circulate the water properly. unhoow the COLD heater hoses and run water from a garden hose through the heater core both ways and hook up the hoses back up , this should do the trick. carfixer208
