It should explain how to disable it in your owner's manual. I do this all the time with my cars or I'd go insane. I will Google "disable seat belt reminder" with car type if I don't have a manual. some do and some don't. there was a tsb that came out when burned cd's got popular that said not to replace the radio if it will not play burned cds. there are so many variables in format and quality that they may play and they may not. all manufacturers are this way. Reference:chrysler tech

How do you turn off the backing up light on the 2007 jeep commander?
I have a 2007 jeep commander and im taking my road test and i need to know how to turn off the back up alert, when u back up and if ur too close to something it beeps? a friend took a roadtest and when the examiner saw they had it (it never went off though) they failed them for saying they have assistance!! how do i deactivate it for my test?...

I believe this can be done by the overhead module. Press the menu button until it reads "Disable Park Assist." Press "Step" and you should be good to go. This is also outlined in the owner's manual.
