Why are my driver 1 settings messed up?
My 02 GMC Envoy has driver 1 and 2 presets, but when i press the driver 1 settings, the side-view mirrors go wacko. they do not return to my preset, or my last setting, why?

You should have the gmc dealer check your body control module. This preset system is one of the functions of the BCM.There could also be a factory bulletin out for this problem that has a down load of new info into the BCM to correct this problem.Best of luck with your envoy. A good friend of mine has one and likes it a lot. She's gone through a lot of other vehicles in the past, but she says this one is a keeper.

Gmc envoy wipers not working?
my wife has a 2003 gmc envoy and the wipers stopped working recently they come on and off from time to time........then i started doing some research and foud out there was a recall on the wiper system due to some water going in and messing w/ the electrical board.......would the gmc dealer cover this??????????

Yes it is recalled, and any repairs performed under the recall are done at no cost. If you look at the motor through the cowl and it has a black case then it needs to be replaced. If it has a silver case then it has the new style already and would need more diag. Also for GM owners you can get all...

GMC Envoy for First Car?
So, I'm getting close to getting my first car and I am thinking about purchasing a GMC Envoy. Im not too sure about how long the vehicle lasts/ reliability. Please don't say, "Get a Honda Civic" because I dont want one. I am paying for the car myself. Specifically, its a 2002 GMC Envoy SLT 4x4. Thanks for taking the time to look at my question!

Judging by the age of the vehicle and using the national miles per year average (12,000) that Envoy should be around 84,000 miles. Being a 4x4, you will want to make sure the trans/transfer case are in good working order. UV joints and rear axle should be free of leaks. Replacement of these will...

Why should I also consider these? X

GMC's own Acadia crossover, though more expensive, may be the best alternative to the Envoy if you're looking for a high-utility family vehicle; it's roomier and safer, and it performs better in just about every way.

The Envoy is part of a dying breed of formerly top-selling truck-based SUVs that are gradually being replaced by safer, smoother-riding car-based crossovers; among those, the Envoy is particularly trucklike in its ride and handling.

The Explorer, Pathfinder, and 4Runner especially all handle more securely, and their interiors have been kept better updated.

The Pathfinder and 4Runner also offer some measure of off-road ability.

Another possibility is the Kia Borrego, a truck-based SUV that is all-new this year, bucking the trend away from this type of vehicle.

Compared to most of its rivals, the Borrego has a far quieter, more refined cabin and an interior that feels genuinely up-to-date.

The 2009 GMC Envoy is closely related mechanically to the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, which is similarly priced but doesn't offer a model like the luxurious Denali; however, the TrailBlazer gets a sporty SS model with a 6.0-liter V-8 for those who want a musclecar-like experience.
