2008 GMC Envoy clunks when reversing with wheels turned?
2008 GMC Envoy 4WD 4.2L. The drive is set to 2WD. When I back out of my driveway I get near the bottom of the driveway and turn the wheels hard to the right (not quite all the way, but a lot), when the front wheels go over the little depressed curb lump at the bottom of the driveway, there is a grinding squeal and a clunk. This only happens in...

yes the grinding sqeal is most likely your overstressed power steering pump at full lock so when all that weight hits the front end as you power that v8 you get a protest, try not to turn so hard and accelerate. A clunk is common in GM drivelines occasionally if this is the only time you hear it...

2008 GMC Envoy four wheel drive accident?
I turned the knob at some point last night while driving home. I didn't put it into any gear, will it be okay?

The big Question is did you turn the selector to "auto" or to "4hi". if it was put to auto your fine, just take it off as it causes undue engagement of the transfer case and front end and is undue wear and tear. if you put it into 4hi it does have a shift on the fly feature...

What lights run in the daytime on my 2008 gmc envoy Denali ?
I'm trying to figure out what lights are running in the daytime? Is it the high beams or something else? Also is there a way to disable it? It's a 2008 GMC envoy Denali
Source: Yahoo! Answers, 2 answers

It should just be your low beams. At least that's what is lit on my 06 envoy. If you run your fogs all the lights(low beams, tails and side markers)come on. To turn them off I think you just turn the headlight switch all the way to the left it won't stay it's spring loaded. However...

The 2008 GMC Envoy is closely related mechanically to the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, which is similarly priced but doesn't offer a model like the luxurious Denali; however, the TrailBlazer gets a sporty SS model with a 6.0-liter V-8 for those who want a musclecar-like experience.

The Envoy is part of a dying breed of formerly top-selling truck-based SUVs that are gradually being replaced by safer, smoother-riding car-based crossovers; among those, the Envoy is particularly trucklike in its ride and handling.

The Explorer, Pathfinder, and 4Runner especially all handle more securely, and their interiors have been kept better updated.

The Pathfinder and 4Runner also offer some measure of off-road ability.

The Durango provides more towing ability and is almost as large as the full-size GMC Yukon for those who want a little more truck instead.

GMC's own Acadia crossover, though more expensive, may be the best alternative to the Envoy if you're looking for a high-utility family vehicle; it's roomier and safer, and it performs better in just about every way.
