Is the 2008 Ford Taurus built on the same frame as the 500 which provided higher seating?
The Ford 500 was built on a copy of the Volvo frame which allowed for seating that was higher from the ground. As both my wife and I are handicapped, this feature allows us to enter and exit the vehicle easier and less painfully - that's why we bought the 500 - we love it.

The new 2008 Taurus is the 500 with different cosmetics. The brought back the Taurus name because the 500 was such a non-descript, casper-milquetoast, bland, failure of a vehicle, much like the Freestar, and the Freestyle. What size impact would trigger the Fuel Inertia Shut off to activate in a 2008 Ford Taurus?
I was rear ended at a stop light. I'm curious to know how fast would the person traveling behind me have to be going in order to activate the fuel inertia cut-off upon impact.

I've never heard of a 2008 Ford Taurus. I have subscriptions to car magazines and by now they should have an article about one. If you've heard of them so soon, I doubt they're in dealers.
