Is the 2008 Ford Taurus built on the same frame as the 500 which provided higher seating?
The Ford 500 was built on a copy of the Volvo frame which allowed for seating that was higher from the ground. As both my wife and I are handicapped, this feature allows us to enter and exit the vehicle easier and less painfully - that's why we bought the 500 - we love it.

The new 2008 Taurus is the 500 with different cosmetics. The brought back the Taurus name because the 500 was such a non-descript, casper-milquetoast, bland, failure of a vehicle, much like the Freestar, and the Freestyle. The Taurus nameplate changed nothing about the mechanics of the car, only...

What size impact would trigger the Fuel Inertia Shut off to activate in a 2008 Ford Taurus?
I was rear ended at a stop light. I'm curious to know how fast would the person traveling behind me have to be going in order to activate the fuel inertia cut-off upon impact.
