I have a 2004 with 110,000mi on it and she runs beautifully. High mileage isn't necessarily a red flag, but you should definitely make sure the car has been exceptionally well-maintained. Reference:Heather - AmericanMuscle.com Customer Service Rep.

Why was my RPMs so low when driving on the highway?
Okay well heres this - I have a 99 Mustang GT automatic. I was going 55 on the highway, set my cruse control, and noticed my RPMS were only at 1500. Now i thought RPMs when going on the highway was suppost to be around 2500-3000. Also another thing, when im driving city, i would start the car, put it in drive, and it would sound as if it was going...

The highway RPM is normal for a large engine. Big engines have big torque and a can run large overdrive allowing lower engine speeds while still having enough power to maintain your speed up normal hills and to pass without downshifting. 3k would be more typical of a 4 cylinder engine. Because of...

95 Mercury Cougar V8 or 09 Mustang V6?
What is faster?
Source: Yahoo! Answers, 5 answers

The Mustang will be faster. Whoever said the Cougar can run the 1/4 in 13-14 second range is very wrong. The non-PI V8's used in the T-Bird/Cougar were good for 205 HP and 270-275 torque. They alsl were saddled with tall gearing, most had 3.08 rear ends; that and the fact that they weigh nearly two...

Why should I also consider these? X

Since 2002 when the last of the Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds rolled off the assembly line, the Ford Mustang has had no pony/muscle car foes to compete against.

Some may be tempted to compare the Mustang to front-wheel-drive coupes like the Pontiac G6 or the Scion tC, but those are apples-to-oranges comparisons.

With the introduction of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, finally, the Mustang has a rear-wheel-drive foe to battle, even if the Dodge only competes with the expensive Shelby GT500 and GT500KR models—for now.

This year (2009), Mustang will compete against a full lineup of Dodge Challenger models (with V-6 and V-8 powerplants), as well as the 2010 Camaro.

The ‘60s are back with a vengeance, and as an added benefit, these muscle machines can take on the twisties as well as they devour pavement in a straight line.

Giddyup!
