It's most likely a missfire. Is the check eng light on? Some aftermarket chains offer free code testing. depending on the engine it may be a coil or plug wire.

.The instructions I found for 2006 Ford Escape was press hour to set the hours and minutes to set the minutes. Is there a couple of little holes marked hour and minutes that you can use a ball point pen and insert to change the time?

I have 235/ 70r-16 tire on my 2005 ford escape i wanted to go bigger and put on 245 /70r 16 is that safe?
will it damage anything by slightly changing the tire size to a wider size?

The 245/70/R16 will be about half an inch taller overall (in addition to being slightly wider). Your speedometer will read slightly lower, but overall there's not a big difference. 245/70/R16s will work fine.
