I have a 2002 ford escape, When you start it in the am or havent driven it in like an hour, it makes a tapping
noise and then after it has warmed it doesn't tap any more, I'm not sure what to do or where to run with this one, but i need help...

I don,t know if you understand about oil in your car , When you turn off your car the oil drains back into the pan , Now if the oil is low it will take a second or two to reach the valves , Check the oil and see if is full , If full you have a drain problem , Holes in the head allows oil to drain...

Where is the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve located on a 2002 Ford Escape?
My engine stalls when i lift my foot off the accelerator pedal. I've read that it maybe the IAC valve but i don't know where it is. My engine stalls when I take my foot off the accelerator pedal. I've read that it's usually the IAC valve but i don't know where it is. The engine is a 2.0 liter Zetec inline 4 cylinder. Please help. Thanks.

It sits close to the throttle body little silver round looking tube about 3inches long and a inch and a half round with a plug and 2 bolts holding it in. Ive had problems with that on a 96 and 03 4.0 both rangers. You can clean them with throttle body cleaner even though they say not to. My guess...


read your book to your car and it should tell you, if not go to autozone and they can tell you, but I think you can use dot 3
