Sounds like it could be a block heater for the engine. If that's what it is, it should have a standard household A/C plug to plug it into an extension cord.

use mobil one in it and use a thicker oil in it ,as long as its not using any oil there's no real need to change it,it just stays warmer out their and it doesn't hurt to run a thicker oil in them,10-w-40 is a good oil to use in them,good luck. Reference:been a certified mechanic for 38 yrs now.

2003 dodge intrepid, brakes grinding, need new set in front but don't have $,what can i do?i need to drive it!
i know that once u hear grinding there's a good chance u'll need new discs, but i seriously only have $40 right now... help!!!!

You should just need a new set of brake pads. They can be bought at Autozone, O'rielly's etc. for about $20. Its easy to replace them. The local library probably has a repair manual that will step you trough the proceedure. It takes about 2 hours to do the job. Probably the rotors are ok, even if...
