I had this problem with my Grand Voyager the problem was there was air in the system. To fix the problem i was told to take the radiator cap off when the engine was cool and then let the engin idle for 20-30 minuets letting any air in the system out. the factory alarm can't be removed, it is wired through the engine and body controllers, what do you mean the engine locks up? the controllers can be scanned and should have a faut code stored in it. Reference:chrysler certified tech ase certified (40 years)
