What is wrong with my 2006 Chevy Uplander keyless remote?
Hi, I have a remote for my Chevy 2006 Uplander, with a weird problem: 1) The only button that works on it is the alarm button (the lights will flash on the car and the horn will sound), I changed the battery, thinking it was dead. The battery change made no difference. 2) I then tried to re-program the remote. I followed the steps perfectly, but...

a remote is basically a battery powered circuit board. Pop open the remote and remove th circuit board. Get some foam glass cleaner and clean the area between the circuit board and the buttons. Then clean the underside of the button area. chances are real good that your problem is now fixed.

If the key actually turns the cylinder, and it has a little plus sign on it, then it probably just needs to be programmed to the van. Why should I also consider these? X

The minivan market is shrinking, and only the best competitors are still standing.

The perennial favorites in the class are the Chrysler and Honda vans.

The Chrysler minivans for 2008 have much more angular styling, and they're laden with features such as in-car satellite television.

The Honda Odyssey still feels the slickest of all, while the Toyota Sienna is a reliable second choice.

The Kia Sedona and Hyundai Entourage are fraternal twins and good performers, though not the great bargains they used to be.
