Other options include the Ford Expedition and the Lincoln Navigator. The most serious competitor is the Expedition. In particular, the Ford Expedition EL (extended length) offers some useful features and trim styles the Chevy Suburban doesn't, and it arguably has an even better ride with just a light passenger load.
