your car uses an oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter to monitor it's ability to store oxygen. Either the catalytic converter has failed (not unheard of) or there is a problem with the post catalyst oxygen sensor. As far as why the catalyst failed, it seems like there would be another code...

How do I find the OEM# for my 2006 chevy Malibu alloy wheel.?
My fiancee hit the rim into the curb and damaged the rim. It likely needs to be replaced as I don't think it is something you can repair. I am hoping to buy one and then find someone who will install it. Any suggestions on this would be very appreciated.

Whoa, Hold onto your billfold if ya buy it from a GM dealership as they will likely cost between $500-$600 . A junkyard would be better as you could get both the tire and rim for 1/2 that. Also there are places that straighten rims out that have been "curbed or chugholed" So check the Yellow Pages...

Where is the Block Heater cord on a 2006 Malibu?
I got a new car this year, and it's my first christmas. I cant find the block heater cord. Anyone know where it might be? K, for you guys saying that Block Heaters are an aftermarket addition, i'm from canada, and block heaters are standard on EVERY car. We wouldn't be able to go through a winter without them. Know what i'm sayin, Eh?

only diesel engines have block heater cords on them, unless you had a block heater install on your gasoline engine. If you did then look at the engine and locate the freeze plugs on the side of the engine block , find the one that has an electrical cord running from it and up to the front of car...
