i would not worry about an electrical problem just yet, make sure u have the starter in properly, i would consider tkaing the starter back out and use ur finger to slide the bindyx in and out to make sure it disengages properly, i myself have purchased a new starter that was faulty, also, make sure...

First, check for a power steering leak. If there is no leak, there could be 1) air somewhere in the system, 2) a clog in the system or the filter has fallen into the pump, or 3) your pump has went bad. Also check your belts and pulleys... does your charge light come on? Since you only have one...

While pressing on the switch kick the bottom of the door panel and see if it works. If not, remove and check for power and ground at motor, 90% time it's the motor itself. They are tricky to replace. Reference:20yr Tech>GM
