I know its it meant for a v8, but the v6 and v8 are virtually i identical besides the extra two cylinders.

Nope. They are nothing close to identical with 2 less cylinders.

Hello I have a 1999 Camaro. I know it's a V6, but I will get a V8 in the future. Right now I have a hiflow cat converter, catback, flowmaster muffler, dual exhausts, and the car sounds great for a V6. I am in the process of installing a cold air intake. My last plan to make the car sound really loud and perform great will be a set of headers...

any reputeable pro shop can install headers, and if they are shorties, i estimate 1/2 day labor. longtubes make more power gains, but are more expensive -more difficult to install....overall your decision in terms of budget (for me-unless i was planning a supercharger i would go with shorties)...

Yea, it sounds like it could be the tranny(which you fail to mentioned what type A4 or M6). Or it could be coming from the rear-end. Which are known to give plenty of headaches. Check out the links below. They may give you some ideas on what to look for or @. Good luck!...
