What is the correct engine oil for the E34 M5 / S38 engine ?
So , what is the correct one? I'm interested in this car .From what i understand , the engine is a racing one , 'old school performance technology' , different tolerances etc. The original manual says 15w40 or 15w50 , i think mineral or semi. Some say that being an M engine , they use Castrol TWS 10w60 fully synthetic. Some say regular aproved bmw...

How does a BMW M5 E60 SMG IIItransmission work?
I'm a little confused on how the m5 e60 transmission works. Is it where you need to be constantly shifting via paddle shifters or the gear selector but without a clutch? or is it like any other tiptronic where you can just slide it into manual mode from auto?

SMG is sequential manual gearbox. It is a manual transmission with a computer controlled clutch. From the drivers seat, it is just like tiptronic, with paddleshift on the steering wheel. But this transmission performs a million times better than that. It is just about as fast as any human can...

BMW M5 or M6: Which Would You Get?
If only I actually had to decide between the two right now! But hypothetically speaking, which would you rather get and why: an M5 or an M6?

M6 for it's style. I drove both at M school & preferred the look & feel of the 6. The 5 is fine for a family, but a single guy or someone w/o kids, take the 6! It would also be nice if either car had the dual clutch set up like the M3. There is a noticeable lag in shifting between the two different...
