Why are people selling so many 2008 BMW?
I have been researching and thinking about buying a used BMW that is about 2-3 years old. While I was researching, I found that there are over 425 2008 5 series being sold from http://cars.com. It was just interesting to see such a large quantity for one year. It just seem odd to me and I would like to know more about why? Has there been major...

How can you tell if a 2008 BMW 5 series is equipped with the Premium Harman Kardon Logic 7 sound system?
I'm looking to buy, possibly online, and need to know how to tell without asking the seller or seeing a list of original options. Thanks!

On the 08 there is nothing that will identify the car as being equipped with HK. You need to go into the idrive to see if the EQ is there.

Is there a difference between 2007 and 2008 bmw 5 series?

There's a lot of subtle changes that make a big difference in the end. On the exterior the tail lamps are different (don't know how to describe it, but they're very different at night). There's a new front bumper and there are new engines. The 525 from 2007 went to 528 which has...

The M Sport has better styling, handling, and it doesn't look like an old mans car. I have never, and would not drive a Beemer without the M kit.

Why should I also consider these? X

The 2008 BMW 5-Series's chief competitor, the E-Class, has more of an emphasis on comfort than the 5, with a roomier-feeling interior and a softer ride.

The A6 also feels a bit more spacious and comfort-oriented, but its performance--especially from the available 4.2-liter V-8--doesn't come close to matching that of the 550i's 4.8-liter V-8.

None of the competition offers a manual transmission either.

The Cadillac STS brings plenty of high-tech options and respectable performance, but it doesn't have the prestige of the 5-Series.

There's also the Infiniti M35 and M45, which bring brisk performance and some rival high-tech features such as a lane-departure system, but their cabins aren't as quiet and refined as those of the 5-Series models.
