How to use a steptronic in a 1997 bmw 3 series?
there are 3 modes ; s, e and m s stands for sport and m for manual right? so does e stand for economical? how would i use the m? the gearbox allignment is park reverse neutral drive 3 2 1 there arent any levers or anything behind the steering wheel.

Steptronic?? i didn't think they used steptronic boxes on the 1997 E36 models........ Yes, you are right, S is sport which means you car will stay in gear until it reaches the higher REV range. E is economy, the car will change gear lower down in the REV range. The 3-2-1 if for when you are going...
