I'm interested in buying a Audi S-Line?

What is the better car, the S6 or the S8? Is there a RS6 scheduled for production in 2007? Also is the German different/better/worse than the American version? If yes/no then why? I've been researching the car on the net and am still not sure if the S6 offers a better driving experience than the S8.

Do I have to shift manually during an SMG launch on an E46?

I have all the details for launch mode but one. After placing the SMG in S6 mode, holding the left paddle (or shift lever forward), flooring the throttle, then releasing the paddle, will I need to shift through the gears, or will the RPM limiter shift for me?
