My 16 year old grandson recently bought a '79 Spider with SPICA fuel injection. We changed the oil the day we took it off the trailer. The car seemed to be running rich but had good oil pressure. I dont know that model at all but in general all systems only have a few ways to get fuel into the oil. First place would be if there is a mechanical fuel pump. A mechanical pump has some sort of connection to the internals of the engine so if there is an internal problem with the pump it could end...

Is is sacrilege to put a diesel engine in an Alfa Romeo ?

The spirit of Alfa Romeo is one of beauty and sportiness - no place for diesel engines IMHO. I drive a petrol Spider and the best thing about it is the engine! I have to say my Alfa is ultra reliable - always always starts whatever the weather! there is no rust and the ride is amazing- it a 1997 car by the way!

I can't find a ignitions switch for my 1979 fiat spider. Any suggestions, where or who has one?

Any suggestions where I can get one or who has one now. The only place that carries it is back-ordered till the end of April. I need it now because the car is in a shop, and they are having a hard time finding it. I can;'t leave the car in the shop for that long. The car is 1979 fiat spider 2000 convertible.

1995 chevey blazer 4.3 not starting?

the car is not starting normal we have to use starter fluid. the batter, starter the plugs and wires, fuel filter where changed. alternator is working fine and fuel pump is working. cylinder 4 is Miss firing. could it be the regulator on the spider (injection system) causing a fuel issue. there is no recalls on nothing. any ideas the only thing we...

it sounds like a fuel pump pressure issue,check pressure at rail port.can you hear fuel pump whine really loud ?? if so its bad.pumps are very common to go bad.
