2009 Vibe transmission issue

I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe and have noticed when I am braking from around 70 kph and come to a complete stop the automatic transmission is very rough going into first gear. The car jumps ahead with a shudder and the car seems a jump about a foot forward. Is this part of the engine transmission breaking in? Has anyone else noticed this in the 2009 Pontiac Vibe?

Not sure if this is related, but we just picked up our new vibe last night and noticed that when we take our foot off the gas, the auto transmission immediately gears down and slows the car right down. We didn't remember that happening on our test drive in another vibe, has anyone else noticed this?
