Other Choices

Why should I also consider these? X

First off, more carlike choices such as the Ford Edge, Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Traverse, or Nissan's own Murano are all better choices than the 2010 Pathfinder if you don't plan to tow or haul regularly.

The Toyota 4Runner has been completely redesigned for 2010, and it ends up feeling better appointed inside and offers a bit more comfort.

Like the Pathfinder, the 4Runner is focused on off-roading and serious truck duty, though there's a new base four-cylinder 4Runner model that offers slightly better fuel economy.

The Kia Borrego is another alternative; introduced last year, the Borrego offers V-6 and V-8 engines plus body-on-frame construction.

The Ford Explorer has a nicely updated, comfortable interior with more standard safety features across the line, but it doesn't possess the sturdy off-road ability of the 2010 Nissan Pathfinder.

At the end of the day, each of these vehicles has poor fuel economy and a less-than-ideal ride.
