Impreza
Subaru's compact sedan and wagon line continues for 2005 with only minor updates. This broad range of all-wheel-drive models includes the Impreza 2.5 RS sedan, 2.5 TS wagon, performance-oriented WRX, and new-for-2004 WRX STi. Most versions offer a 165-horsepower, 2.5-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder and a five-speed-manual transmission, with a four-speed automatic optional. For the performance minded, the Impreza comes in two "tuner car" versions, each coming with a host of performance upgrades and more-aggressive styling cues. The WRX gets a 227-horsepower turbocharged engine, while the WRX STi offers a higher-output turbocharged motor that produces a truly quick 300 horsepower, albeit at a steep price. Air conditioning, a CD stereo, power accessories, and alloy wheels come standard across the line. Like the Legacy-based Outback, the Impreza comes in an Outback Sport wagon that features sport utility vehicle-like styling cues and a slightly higher ground clearance, along with assorted added features.2004 Subaru WRX STi by Bob Hall
