Outlander
This five-passenger, compact crossover SUV is based on the Lancer car line and its four-wheel fully independent suspension affords nimble handling. A 160-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is on hand that provides solid acceleration and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that affords manual gearshifts. Both LS and XLS trim levels can be equipped with all-wheel drive for added traction on wet or snowy road surfaces. The Outlander offers a 1500-pound towing capacity. Air conditioning, a CD stereo, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, power windows, and a rear defroster and wiper/washer are among its standard features. The XLS adds the otherwise optional upgraded stereo and upholstery, power locks and mirrors, keyless entry, roof rails, and rear spoiler. Few changes are offered for 2006.
