Galant
Redesigned last year, and thus receiving only minor updates for 2005, the front-drive midsize Galant sedan is roomy, attractively styled, and rides on an underlying structure that's stronger and more rigid than the previous generation's for improved ride comfort and handling characteristics and a quieter interior. A 160-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is standard in the base version, while a peppy 230-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 is included in LS and GTS versions. Four-wheel disc brakes are included across the line, with anti-lock brakes included on the two highest trim levels. The top GTS model adds more-aggressive chassis tuning and 17-inch alloy wheels and performance tires for improved handling prowess. The Galant shares its underpinnings with the Endeavor SUV.
