Eclipse
Mitsubishi's sports coupe comes in both coupe and convertible versions and shares platforms and powertrains with the two-door versions of the Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Sebring. It's the raciest looking of the three models, overall, with swoopy exterior styling and a cockpit-like interior. A 2.4-liter 137-horsepower four-cylinder engine powers the RS and GS versions, while the GT and GTS models get a 200-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6. Both engines can be paired to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capabilities. Handling on V-6 models benefits from larger 17-inch wheels and tires. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control and a CD stereo. The Eclipse continues for 2005 with only few changes.
