Sable
While the midsize
Sable will eventually drive off into the sunset, both the front-drive sedan and
wagon models will continue in the line for at least another model year as a
value-leader. For 2005, a leather-and-wood-trimmed steering wheel becomes newly
standard on top LS models, while a new LS Premium Package includes leather
upholstery, automatic climate control and automatic headlamps. Available for
2005 in a slimmed-down product line that encompasses GS and LS sedans, and LS
wagons, two 3.0-liter V-6 engines are offered, with each mated to a four-speed
automatic gearbox. Anti-lock brakes are optional on the GS and standard on the
LS. With its optional rear-facing third-row seat, the LS wagon can hold as many
as eight passengers.
