The retractable hardtop roadster continues for 2007 with updates that include a knee airbag for both driver and front seat passenger, a front-passenger-seat weight-detection sensor for airbag deployment, front-passenger seatbelt pre-tensioner a new uniblade windshield wiper and new exterior color and wheel options. Obsidian replaces Black Onyx; Black Sapphire replaces Blue Onyx Pearl, and Starfire Pearl replaces White Gold Crystal. A limited-production Pebble Beach Edition SC 430 is available that includes unique Starfire Pearl exterior paint with an exclusive Pimento Red leather trim and 18-inch G-Spider alloy wheels. Hand-stitched leather interior trim is available in four colors—camel, black, saddle and ecru. The SC's standard 4.3-liter, 288-horsepower V-8 also receives Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle II (ULEV II) certification for 2007. The six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission with Shift Logic Control, which appeared in 2006, returns. Four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, traction control, Vehicle Skid Control (with an off switch that allows aggressive motorists unbridled cornering abilities), and standard 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with Z-rated tires help contribute to the rear-drive SC430's well-balanced handling characteristics. As before, the only option on the SC430 beyond the Pebble Beach special edition and color choices is the available rear spoiler.
